Just recently I was able to obtain a DVD of the movie and still love it. I also was finally able, after 40 years to get a 5/5(4). The book did a great job of describing life in the early 20th century, so it wasn't just a book about a stowaway who got to travel to Antarctica.

Many of the characters were well-researched, so you really got a feel for what the atmosphere and the journey was like.
